South Milwaukee Middle School a dynamic and energetic place. Our students experience an enormous amount of growth - physically, emotionally, and educationally. Our staff are experts on children in this age range and we offer a wide range of social and emotional supports. SMMS has a particular focus on community service. Each year we go out into the community and other schools and give back. While we're excited about what we can do for others, we're also building a sense of ownership and belonging. We get pretty excited about what's happening in our schools. One thing we've heard from parents and caregivers is that they want consistent messaging and an easy way to find that information, no matter what school their student attends. That's why we introduced ParentSquare last year.

The ability to pick up a younger sibling at Rawson Elementary is a privilege and a big help to families. It also builds memories and helps a family to function in an increasingly busy world. Below are some rules that will help ensure the safety of our students and their older siblings when they stop by and pick up their younger sibling.

Thirty-six staff members spent all day Monday and Tuesday in a project-based learning training with our partners from Blue Dot Education. They engaged in opportunities to be a learner, time to plan around our academic and SEL standards in a way that best engages all students, and time to collaborate with other staff.
