Wing Project Reaching New Heights at Middle School

During the first week of school in September, Music teacher Kathleen Miller and Art Teacher Nancy Laski started a collaborative art project.

All students and staff associated with South Milwaukee Middle School were given a printed feather that reflected the theme Born to Soar.

Each individual was then given the task of writing an inspirational quote and/or coloring their feather with the intent of showing our middle school community what makes them soar or inspires them to do their best on a daily basis.

The more than 500 feathers were then collected and assembled to form a selfie picture station that was put on display at the main entrance of the middle school for Parent-Teacher conferences which started on the afternoon and evening of Wednesday, October 18th.

All visitors to the school are invited to have a picture taken at the station and post to social media in order to share the inspiration and positive energy generated at South Milwaukee Middle School.
